sounds awesome! wish i could go, but i have two things holding me back: My "wee man" status, and a 13+ hour plane ride. What if there were a strongman comp for people under 90kg? Oh wait, that's bodybuilding.

Oh cool! Are you going to compete too Daywalker?

I've never done any strength contests before, just stage ones. But I'm not all that strong. I did a 270-lb decline bench at the gym with Daywalker this summer when I was sick and only weighed about 170 :) But I'm not really strong in any events.

If I come out this summer to visit I'll do a contest with the house mates and I'll come in last there too :)

daywalker, are you doing the comp mate??? If so that would be FANTASTIC!

But hey, i cant let a skinny bodybuilder beat me though  i'd never live it down. I actually fancy your chances, you have good CV shape and endurance, and you are pretty fast as well. There are no static events to speak of which is defo against me.

Let the battle commence!

But hey mate, if you are doing it, i INSIST you start a training log pretty please!

This sounds like a great weekend ahead!

JP - Alex is suprisingly strong in some areas - like when we did the 20inch deadlift with the cardeadlift frame, Brian and I struggled with 4 reps each (240kg approx apparently) and Alex knocked off 6 easy reps. He is pretty good at stone lifting, is a speed demon with the tyre, and has the advantage of being Jamie Barr's best mate.

Just read about this recently on the scottish strongman site.

Early March is much earlier than I would've liked, might be tricky to get up around that time.

Tricky to get the log up that early to too, could've done with a few months training after the shoulder problems

I'll see what I can do. I might stick in an entry form anyway, don't mind donating £15 to the strongman cause if I don't make it.

Plans for March have come together for me, I'm off to Hong Kong for the first two weeks of the month.

So I won't be making this.

Looks like it'll have to be the Fife <105 later this year for me

Good luck with this everyone. This is the first stage of the vegans shocking the strongman world. Enjoy it :D
