Bramley meetup - February 2007

Postby ultra_whippet » Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:08 am

OK folks, runner and I are thinking of doing this race again next year. For those of you that don't know it, the race website is here. Bramley is in Hampshire, UK, about 10 miles from Reading.
There is the option of running either 10 or 20 miles and the course is reasonably flat. The 20 would make a nice warmup race for anyone doing the London marathon. You can also read the thread and see the photos from last year's meetup

So - who's interested? :)

Provisional list:
ultra_whippet (10)
runner (spectator)
duathlondave (10)
daf (10)
petersimpson (10)
Maurice (VeganRunners) (20)
Manuel (Veg C&AC) (10)

Update - RACE FULL!

Sounds good, I am interested in getting involved and doing the race.

I might opt for the 10miler though - 20miles seems a long way!

I've just emailed Peter S to let him know that we're entering a team. I don't think there's anything special we need to do as long as everyone puts "Vegan Runners UK" as their affiliated club.

James - good to have you on board!

Come on everyone else, don't be shy :)

Yep, subject to any clash if dates (and whether it's a HRRL event), count the turn out and back-up crews you had for it!!

I was also going to suggest you / vegan runners may want to consider the Meon Valley Plod race in Feb. It's long (19 miles off road), but is based at a Sustainability Centre with accomodation available, and as Vegan are the most sustainable -kind of humans I thought it might be a good place for a weekend social meet up, whether you run it, support it, or just have a stroll around the beautiful scenery whilst the race is under way. It's organised by Portsmouth Joggers so will no doubt be on their website somewhere!! There may even be pictures of last years race..so you can see why it's not for the faint hearted!!

Hope you're all well.
Take care all,

Peter Simpson tells me he'll be at Bramley to run the 10 miles. He will also put the word out to the Vegetarian Cycling & Athletics club.
