can i enter my July 2004 time of 33.14 for 5 miles? I think my bodyweight was about 85-88kg then so there is no chance i could do it anymore! came 3rd out of 60.

OK, updated! Emile, do you want to post some more of your track times (3K etc.)?

Any more contributions/corrections?

well runner talked me into posting my times. My best 5k was a 32:39, although right now I'm trying a new training method that my coaches assure me will speed my time :D

It's an interval training method ( i dunno y it's so embarassing to admit we train in intervals - it always makes me feel like less of a runner lol, although this will help me in the long run [no pun intended] for the marathon)mixed with some track and hills (those are going to become more frequent as time goes on)

intervals are the best way to increase your speed work.

you can also do your long runs with little intervals if you want.

like every 6 or 9 minutes 30 seconds faster.. or evry 7 minutes an other intensity.

most importand is fun than the rest!!

speed and enduranse sould be in balance, but that sounds ok with your interval/ long run trainings

enjoy

Okay, so I'm going to run a few races again over the summer, so it's time to stop lurking and fess up to my times as an encouragement to work harder for pbs. My best times at the mo are:

5K - 16min24sec
10K - 38min16sec
1/2 marathon - 1hr24min44sec
marathon - 3hr16min

Target for the summer is to get my 10K under 38minutes.
