This will be a great list if enough people contribute, it doesn’t matter how much you lift! It doesn’t matter how strong you are. Get yourself on the list and try and beat the person one up. If you’re at the top, try and remain there.
If your lifts improve I’ll update it.
Please post the maximum weight that you can lift in these three lifts, and I will add it to the table.

Bench press aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaTest of upper body strength
Squat aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaTest of lower body strength
DeadliftaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaTest of whole body strength

For a description of how to do these lifts, check these links

Squat
http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Glu ... Squat.html
Bench press
http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Pec ... Press.html
Dead lift
http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Glu ... dlift.html

If you are interested in finding out your Wilk's co-efficient use the link below
http://www.usapowerlifting.com/liftersc ... ndex.shtml

Rules

1.Lifter must be vegan

2.The three lifts are based on RAW powerlifting rules. Therefore make sure squat is to at least parallel level, bench press bar touches the chest in the bottom position and that glutes stay on the bench and feet on the floor during the lift.

3.Equipment allowed
Chalk
Belt
Wrist wraps

Not allowed
Squat suits or bench shirts
Knee wraps
Lifting straps

4.Please state:
Sex
Weight
Amount lifted

5.Please state your 1 repetition max lift (1RM). If you don't know your 1RM you can either go and test it! or just state the maximum weight that you have lifted, even if you can do more than one rep.

Please take care when attempting these lifts, they will require a spotter.

Remember we are stronger than the average person. Just post the info and I’ll work everything out and add it to the table.

Jonathan (thankyou oak for the original text - i just copied and pasted!)

Right! We have the 2006 strength table! :D

Im really looking forward to see what kind of progress everyone is going to make this year.

Even if you dont think that your lifts are great, please post them - its not a competition! it does certainly help you improve your strength and fitness, having people to relate to who are on a similar level.

For 2006 i hope to see lots more people join up and post their numbers, and everyone improve in some way.

Good luck, and lets get things underway :D

Up my bench to 102.5 from session last friday. More to come soon hopefully!

Question - do people, or should people count clips when posting totals? I don't want to be anal for the sake of 1/2 kilos but it does sometimes make the difference of a place on the table??

no i dont think so. it can be assumed that everyone uses clips so i think its not worth counting them.

Are most folk not using bulldog clips, which would be counted? Just curious, not throwing the dummy out (or trying to put 1.5kg on my total :) )

I'm not really benching or DL'ing these days.

I was thinking might it not be a good idea to expand the table or have another table for other lifts, like Olympic lifts? I think there are a number of people on the board working on C+J's now, for instance.

Not a table as such, but a thread for best olympic lifts http://www.veganfitness.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4617
