Is it time to sign up for this if one would want to participate?
[quote="JP"]Spirulina is a badass crew, and they often just hang around in street corners looking to beat up proteins.

They oftenget confused by the fact that they are almost half protein themselves.

Hi Runner

Saw your post this morning and was seriously considering the 10 mile as I am running a 14mile race in the Lake district on 1st April and thought it'd be a good warm up. But when i checked out the calendar I saw that the British Inter-counties match is on the 18th Feb which I really want to go to so unfortunately I can't make it.

Good on you for getting together a collective vegan presence at races. Keep it up!!

BTK

ps I'll post good local races as well so people can enter if they wish - possibly we need a new topic for this as a resource. What do you think?

the credits for the organisation should go to Skinny Whippet

but yes it's cool to get big vegan representation at races.

this shows that there are more vegans, it's nice to meet and it shows that veganism is not unhealthy!!

unfortunatly i can't wear my veganrunners shirt at all races...

I'ld like to say that the level is not importand.. the more people the better.. and if there is a super good atlete (like fiona) than this is cool, but this is not a rule to partisipate..the more the better...

and who knows when the next carl lewis comes to promote veganism..

Shame you can't make it in February BTK, I can well understand the difficulties of scheduling all your races though. Hopefully another time, and definitely post a thread here if you have anything planned.....

got this mail today
:
I'll check on the bank account information and get back to you on Monday. By all means forward the entry form to anyone else who might be interested, as we won't be offering online entry for this year's race.

Regards,

Nigel

so for all who want such a form pm me your email adres and i'll send it to you.. guess you can also find them on the runnersworld site

the money is an other question, but they might be more flexible with that..

BTKs Planned road races, that it would be lovely if other vegans wanted to participate and meet up:

5th Feb Alsager 5 mile (flat & fast)
1st April Coniston 14 mile (scenic, undulating, lovely atmosphere)
11th June Potteries half-marathon (very tough, slow, vowed never to do it again but am now warming to the idea!)

Cool. I'll wait a bit longer and see if the official entry form comes out, if not I'll use the crappy Runners' World one.

BTK, don't think I'll make any of those, but I will definitely have to try and do a race in the Shrops/Staffs area one of these days.....

Just to say that if anyone who is not in the UK wants me to enter for them, that's no problem. It might save you some hassle with payment if there is no online entry.
