These are great articles. Thanks for the links!
Reading the squatting article has reminded me of a few things that I used to do but for some reason stopped doing. Hopefully this reminder will cause my squat form to improve so I can get back up to 525 and then beyond.

Yeah I've made a lot of changes to my bench press last week based on Tate/Simmons. I've always used a narrow grip (at least what a powerlifter would call a narrow grip). And I never arch my back, and I would keep the bar up high on my chest. Hopefully changing to wide grip, back arched and bar low will do something.

I liked these articles as well. Applied some of his points in his deadlifting article today to my deadlifts. Just getting started doing them, last time I did them a few weeks ago, my max was 1x5 135lb. Today I warmed up with that amount and did 2x5 at 175 lb. with no problem. I think with more practice and working on my technique I can easily add a lot more weight onto that in a very short time period. I just rearranged my workout schedule, I focus on doing squats once a week, and hadn't been able to fit deadlifts in when my legs or back wasn't sore before.

I will be deadlifting today and I am planing on trying to pull the weight differently than I had in the past. I think I was doing many of the correct things he mentioned in the article already, but I know I wasn't doing all of them. I think I am especially guilty of trying to squat the weight at the begin of the lift instead of pulling it, along with my arse being in the wrong place-explaining why my only sticking point was getting the bar off the ground. Usually if I can get the weight started, I can finish the movement. I'm excited to try this stuff!

The first time I tried deadlifts I think I also tried to squat the weight up, in that I would take grip on the bar, and just use my legs until I got more than half way up, then straighten out my back, pulling it up into the finishing position.
This past time I was easily able to lift more weight by keeping my shoulders behind the bar and pulling up and back from the get go, as well as using my legs.

Sometimes it is good to run out of new posts to read, then you have to go back and find great stuff like this thread. I read all three of the articles listed above and every one was worthwhile.
I am really looking forward to my next round of deadlifts. I have been trying to start in the squat position with the heavier weights. Now that I have some idea what I should be doing, I bet I can easily add 50 pounds to my deadlift.

Thanks again JP, for the articles.

just wanted to bump this post to the top again, these articles are really good. I am just about to re-read the bench article before I go to the gym...

Yup, they are good. I have them printed off and keep them in my bag most of the time to read on the way to work.
