Haisuli's sick log

Postby haisuli » Wed Jan 28, 2009 1:56 pm

I planned to create my own training log, but becouse it seem's that I'm sick allmost all the time nowadays, there isn't much to write about training. This topic is more charasteristic for these days.

Look's like conquering the Vegan strength table still has to wait to happen.

Actually I'm very pissed off and angry for this situation. I've had 5 times fever in last 2 months. Tempereture has raised above 38 deg.C, sometimes over 39 deg.C. CRP has raised also to 50-60. Perioids have lasted from one day to one week. And if the temperature has been high for a week it takes time to recover from it. So practically when just recovering from previous fever, new one will start.

Doctor don't know what it is. She suspects that these are separete diseases, just a bad luck to have those another after another, but I don't know.. Usually, I have about one or two flu in year and normally they are just lot's of snivel with very little raise of temperature. Now it's been opposite every time, first high temperature and then just some slight flu symptoms.

Last week I went again to see the doctor becouse I had over 39 deg. fever again. She put me in ECG to see could there be cardiomyopathy. She called in the afternoon and said that I should go again to ECG on next morning. The ECG was abnormal, some wave didn't appear normally. Next morning ECG wasn't normal either, wave's were wierd and additionally lot's of ventricular premature complexes. We found some 13-year old ECG of mine from archive (it was taken just in case because of electric shock). Doctor looked it and said that there was some abnormal things already then. When it was taken 13-years ago, it was said it's normal...
Well, nothing very serious I think, if I had these things at least 13 years, maybe from birth, and still alive. But next there's a Holter-monitoring and maybe some other examinations.

Well, sickleave is ending today, CRP is at low level again, fever is gone away, tomorrow morning I start to work again. I still use this week to recover. Next week I'm gonna train again and when the praiseworthy protein bars from JP will arrive probably in next month: BEWARE strength table (at least the last positions of it)

Thank's for support!

Update to sick log:

Damn flu is going to kill me

I was planned to do training log...

I felt fine on weekend and becouse there weren't any fever for about week, I went gym on yesterday.
Results:
Not very much to speak of the weights, I did some bench press, triceps, shoulder moves. But now I got Rod Stewart's voice, sore throat, and the temperature is raising maybe 6th time after November.

So this is (sh)it. Tomorrow again ECG-control, I'm going to ask if the doctor knows some reliable mortician, seems that it would be clever to make also testament etc. This f*****g bug won't leave me.

Only thing that brings some satisfaction is black humour.

Haisuli's sick log (mainly heart & flu)

Postby haisuli » Sun Feb 08, 2009 7:16 pm

Ok, getting interesting.

My own doctor has showed my ECG-films for a specialist of internal medicine. Based on ECG, specialist suspects that I might have inborn Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrom (WPW) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wpw

It usually isn't very dangerous. But having tachycardias and arrhythmias (also those that are not dangerous without WPW) could raise the risk of sudden death. Unfortunately I might had those (heart rate has suddenly raised above 210 /min), so I think (and hope) that this should be examined accurately.

Good thing is that if I have this WPW and it's dangerous sort of it there is cure for it. Catheter ablation procedure success rate for WPW is 95-98%. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catheter_ablation So in any case there is hope.

I have dealed with a public health care. It's not the fastest way, getting to specialist will take maybe little bit more time than from private sector. But when getting there, it's not matter which way you came there. Both private and public side will finally send people in same central hospitals and specialists. I think public side is generally working quite well here in Finland.

Now I'm going to move over from sick log to training log little by little. I haven't got fever for over a week, so I started to train again.

My general practitioner just moved my heart case to a hospital. That's a good thing, now I'm just waiting to get invitation. But now when not having fever, I can deal with my heart like I have done for all my life. So I suppose I could train with weights.
