VF week 2009 in Melbourne: November 1 - November 7 2009

Postby hardcore iv » Tue Dec 23, 2008 9:12 am

I know Israel has been suggested for next years vf week, but a few people have also privately suggested Melbourne. We are thinking about holding it in late october, which is mid-spring in the southern hemisphere. How many folks would be interested in seeing this happen and would you prefer a countryside or beachside venue?

UPDATE! 26/9/09

VF WEEK MELBOURNE
November 1 - November 7 2009
Venue - Various
Okay, so there are only 4 people who have confirmed that they are still coming:

.flux
JP
Benzilla
Helmut

and the regular MVS mofos

I think everyone can be billeted at this stage.

Sounds good, but I think a more suitable date would be NEXT WEEK!

I'd love to visit Melbourne!!! <3 Maybe some powerlifting, soy ice cream piqueniques and beach afternoons including running, beachvolley and just laying on the shore. Hmm, that VFW would bequite expensive but I'd be ready for living with a tiny budget all the months before Oct. and work hard. Yes and lots of training bench!!! <3

Would be another reason for me to go to Australia. Has anyone looked at the costs of flights from Europe so I can start saving?

As for events my wish list would be some open water swimming, touch rugby and posing on the beach.

Sounds sweet to me - in fact I may be in Melbourne anyway in October so it could work out really well. A beachside venue is a must 8)

I'd love to come out to Melbourne: but it would have to include the Melbourne GP.

I'm only ever traveling to Melbourne once and it would be really fantastic to do both.

How about the idea of a "Melbourne Strength Weekend" either the weekend before or after then GP in 2010?

Muay Jin has been queueing up to give me a kicking so I'd like to give him the chance and it would be nice to touch hands with MBV too - compare his Hung Gar with a bit of Wing chun.

There might be interest from Spug, Ninearms, Jono, and Pong as well?
