Vegan Powerlifting Belts-soon to be available!(hopefully...)

Postby buzz » Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:53 am

After years of talk and speculation, myself and my good buddy JP took over this projekt of getting these made. At the moment, we are having one made, which will be tested out for a wee bit, and then a decision will be made on whether they're up to scratch or not. All going well, we'll be supplying them (to any country potentially), on a payment up front basis, or at least taking a deposit. We would like to get an indication of demand, and also sizes people want (would be something like MEDIUM 26"-36",LARGE 30"-40", XXL 38"-45").

They would meet comp standards but not have official IPF approval. There is no reason they wouldn't be given this at a later date, but there is no guarantee. As for cost, at the moment I don't know, but will hopefully at least get an indication of what they will come in at in around two weeks time (once it's known how much work and material is involved in making them).

Any questions feel free to ask, and we'll do our best to answer. Otherwise, an indication of who is interested in one (or more) and what size(s) would be good.

Solid work guys. We should injure JP more often, shit gets done :)

I'd be down for at least one. I'll check the size against my current belt - plus a few inches for projected belly growth...

Depends on the size of your waist my man! Measure up and let us know what's best. I'd think Large tho.

I tried to get one made myself. Although i got the buckle easily enough (from Zulu) a couple of material suppliers let me down. Put me down for a...cough...cough..large. Man i feel like a fat bastard now!

I wouldn't hold your breath about formal IPF approval. There should be least trouble at regional comps. Just take one along with you and shout loudly about human rights until they let you wear it!

Well done by the way!

i will definitely take one. i think you should rethink the sizing though. here is my take on it:

Large: 26- 34"
Extra Large: 30 - 38"
Double XL: 36 - 44"
XXXL: 40 - 48"

i would want a size Large (as in smallest one you have) by the way. could you please get a 'lever buckle'. they are so so much better.
Are you doing enough to be the best?

Sizes are just a guide really, but those ones you posted look ok. No need for the triple xl i doubt tho. If anyone needs one that big we can maybe get it custom made, but would like to keep it to three sizes to keep it simple, and also keep cost lower. Looked into lever buckles, but it doesn't look like it'll happen.

I thought you did these two years or so ago!

Well, count me in, provided that there will be a small enough belt. I have 29" waist in my blue jeans (and not too much belly on top of it, yet; hopefully never), so probably the smallest one would be ok?

my waist has dwindled down so much i'm thinking of using a cockring instead of a belt if i ever need one.
Next time, I'll spend the money on drugs instead.

Good timing if these are available soon(ish), in my quest to reach 100kg I've now only got a couple of holes left on mine so I'll need a large one please.

Vegan cockrings will be coming soon, don't worry :)

Belt update - these are pretty much 'set to go', but it looks like price will be higher than hoped, most likely £75 a piece. We'd hoped to be able to offer them for nearer £50, but due to the production quantity being fairly low (about 30 or so) the costings are high. Compared to leather belts they are obviously a lot more expensive, but hopefully the standard/quality will be very good/high. The full order won't be placed until one has been tried and tested, and if quality is sub-standard, we just won't go ahead with them.

Can everyone please confirm that they are ok with the price? When taking into consideration postage it's a fair bit money, but we are still keen to get these done.

Ya, even at that price (*faints at the thought*) I'd still like one! Not a lot of upcoming opportunities for cheaper ones now is there? Do you have a paypal account Buzz-man? If you have those shakers by then, I'll take one of those, too :D

Twist in the tale looks like they might be lever belts after all (better imo anyway) but may put back production by a few weeks or so. Will keep posting updates on this thread.

Yeah, I have paypal Frosty-lady :) Should be fine to take payment that way, and likely belts, shakers, and protein chocolate bars will all be available around the same time :)
