Green quinoa stuff

Postby violetti » Tue May 06, 2008 5:52 pm

A couple of weeks ago I bought quinoa. Immediately I fell in love with it <3 On last Friday I created a portion and I gave it a name. It's quick and tasty. Includes enough protein, I suppose and really hope. (Sometimes problems to get enough protein.) Okay, here we go!

Green quinoa stuff (for 1 person)
1 dl quinoa
1 dl green lentils
~ 100 g broccoli
2 - 3 tbsp green olives (I used slices.)
some tamari
1 veggie soup cube (No idea which term is "right" English) or your fave herbs and spices
1 tbsp oil

1. Some water to pot. Throw washed quinoa and lentils. A bit after that broccoli pieces. (I also put 1 veggie soup cube.) Cook the stuff about 20 min.
2. Pour overleft water away.
3. Put olives, tamari, herbs and spices. Mix.
4. Add some oil. Mix.
5. Eat.

It took me quite a while to get used to quinoa, but I have found, as you have, that it appears to go incredibly well when cooked with lentils. I love it now, as long as its with lentils.
