Chess

Not exactly sport related, but Séamus (our nine year old) has been picked to represent Staffordshire County in the local Junior Chess Team, under 11s. Apparently he is a "player of note", and did well against the best players in the county...

That will explain why the little git keeps beating me these days!

So what was all that nonsense about vegans not getting the right omega oils?

I do, but not very well. I play much better over the board, specially blitz. I play on an excellent website, www.chesscorner.net which is really friendly. I also play on non correspondance sites, and generally do much better.

I think Celebration Chess Cake is in the offing today at some point... we thought he might be picked for the nine and unders, so it is really encouraging for him to be picked for the older group.

I will challenge you runner - or should I call that hard loper? My handle is Callybeg.

Neil and I have been thinking of a vegan team for a while now, so you never know. Unless you want to join the pagans, which I am currently captain of. What is it about playing captain that kills your games?

Let's see if we can start a clan vegan on Redhot chess then? At least if Séamus plays for it we might stand a ghost of a chance!

I'm on RedHotPawn as well, as EinZweiDrei. Used to be pretty into the chess thing, but once I didn't have a good computer to play Fritz7 on, it all fell apart.
