1RM Test

Postby Daniel » Sun Jul 03, 2005 3:40 pm

Hapkido: Wednesday learned two more techniques for my new rank. Thursday worked on punch defense, then went to New Hampshire for a Kuhapdo seminar. Friday went to a Hapkido seminar and worked on key points.

1RM Test Day: (Sunday, 3 July 2005)
Squat: (10x115) (5x185) 1x250, fx255, 1x255
Bench Press: (10x105) (5x155) 2xfx205 (8x135) fx205
Deadlift: (10x205) (5x295) 1x405, fx415

Wanted to get these in before the contest ended, but it was a busy week and I never made it to the gym. Not too happy with my bench; I should have had that one. I'll start the bench routine that has been going a round on the board and see if that helps.

I just got 415 last week, but I think you and Tyler will go way ahead of me soon. Just as Jonathan and Michael did long ago ...

Log before and after pictures

Postby Daniel » Sun Oct 09, 2005 9:02 pm

Here are some before and after photos. The pictures on the left were taken 5 Feb. 2005, and the pictures on the right were taken 12 June 2005. I took the picture to measure my progress during my "No Contest Log," which coincided with veganessential's contest. My goal was to gain weight. When the log started I weighed between 155 lb and 160 lb. During the time of this log I was able to reach my goal of 165 lb. I think you can see the difference in the following before and after pictures.

Thanks to Crystal for helping me get these pictures edited, and letting me use here photobucket so I could post them here.

Way to go Daniel!

I don't know about that quite yet, Joe C, I have been nursing a back injury/strain the last 2+ weeks, and it is just starting to loosen up.. I have deadlifted about 2 times in the last 2 months!! However, I think my strength is as high as it has ever been, so once I get back in the groove, watch out

definitely some good progress there mate! Especially because it seems like you have kept the bodyfat levels quite low.

Keep up the good work!

great progress there daniel - you are huge in the second photos compared to the first. and in only 5months too - how have you slapped on so much muscle so quickly?

Crystal, thanks again for your help. I'm sure I'll be plenty pail again by next February ;) .

tylerm, I think even with your back you're going to end up way ahead of me in the deadlift. Since I finished this log my training has been all over the place. I was only an accidental powerlifter -- as I was mainly doing that type of training to gain the weight.

JP, right now keep up is the work. It's been mostly maintenance since June. I think I've been able to maintain my body composition at near the same level -- although my strength may have dropped a little.

jonathan, the muscle was the pure anabolic effects of veganism. I didn't really do anything other than what is listed in this log.

michaelhobson, I like the first set of pictures, too.

When I get serious about a fitness goal again I'll start a new log. But I'm not doing much of note at the moment.

Thanks for the support :D .
