Why You Need To Double Check in Foriegn Languages

Postby Mary » Mon Oct 03, 2005 5:45 pm

Okay, while checking things out for "is it vegan" we came across the following quotes from a Spanish sweety manufacturer: "Why Sucking is Good for You". "Practical – just one hand needed to self-SMINT (and SMINT.others)"

Any other embarassing mishaps in foriegn languages?

Or am I just filthy?

Oh, I forgot to add... When I was teaching French kids English they all had a slight problem with certain pronunciations. I managed to help them to hear it by getting them to repeat "When I am hungry I like to eat soup." If it came out sounding like "When I am angry I like to eat soap", they knew they were still getting it wrong! (You need to say this aloud in a French accent to hear the pure comedy...)
