How many Cascadian / Pacific Northwest VF folks?

Postby loveliberate » Wed Aug 03, 2005 10:03 pm

Just curious where folks in the region live - maybe we can do some local and/or regional Vegan Fitness get-togethers!

Please do the poll but also please tell us about yourself, where ya live more specifically, etc.

Me , i am in Portland, Oregon.

Let's get a training group together sometime.

I'll be moving to Portland in the future but I'm only 90 minutes drive away right now and come up to visit family and friends on a semi-regular basis.

Hola!

Thanks for the replies.

I am also definitely up for a Pdx training group.

Dave, I'd love to come up to Victoria again... I was there about 8 years back & remember Victoria having the best vegan buffet I've ever seen - or tasted!
Can the family & I crash at your place for a night or 2?

I went through the memberlist (it's really neat to see where folk are from) and found 35 more Cascadians besides us 4 - 20 in BC, 10 Oregonians & 5 Washington folks. I hope these folks will jump in on this thread!

Visiting Vancouver

Postby loveliberate » Wed Aug 24, 2005 8:21 am

Dave & All!

I hope to make it up to BC in a couple of months and was hoping that you could make some suggestions of places my family and I should check out.
We are probably going to limit our first visit to the Vancouver area but I am interested in hearing about pretty much anywhere in BC.
Specifically, I'm hoping you will have some suggestions on good places to hang out & meet like-minded (vegan, anarchist, etc) folks, places to get cheap or free vegan eats and anything that is unique to the area.

Thanks!

ah you lucky people, i was in washington for a couple of years, the countryside there is beautifull!

Hope to get back sometime for a visit, maybe when the finances will allow.

Okay, that wasn't helpful, but I remember the cascades fondly. :)

Dave!

Bad news is - I doubt that I will have more than about 3 days at a time to visit anytime soon....
Good news is - I can come for a day or 2 fiarly often, perhaps even monthly.
:D
How far is limited mostly by the time constraints.

Andy!

I hope you can make it back for a visit sooner than later. If you do, I'm sure that we can help ease your finances and find you places to stay and get you lots of vegan food for free.

I just noticed that we had folks vote that they were from WA & OR who havent posted in this thread - what city/area are ya'll from?

Also, I was reading that folks sometimes get turned around at the Canadian Border for being activists and/or having "criminal" backgrounds.
Does anyone know what "crimes" count and/or have personal experience with being turned away when trying to cross?
Anything else I should know and be prepared for when crossing?

Seattle here. Bring your birth certificate as well as one photo id when crossing if possible.
