Steel Bending

Postby VeganEssentials » Thu Apr 01, 2004 7:32 am

I'm guessing that I'm the only one here who expresses interest, but does anyone else partake in bending? I just received a kit full of steel just waiting to be folded (ranging from 3/16" stock to some brutally large 5/16" bar) and I'm finding it to be a fantastic lower arm workout. I'm not making a ton of progress so far, but I did manage a pair of 3/16" bars taped together for 2 bends today for my best, and in a few weeks I expect the 1/4" bars to fall as well. I suppose I should have found a better time to trash my hands than the day before I try to set a new deadlift record, but I just couldn't resist. So, if anyone else here does any bending I'd be interested in hearing how it has gone!

Since I read about it in John Brookfield books I've been considering giving bending a go. Probably later in the year though, as I'm hoping to learn to walk on my hands & do some hand balancing leading up to the summer (seeing as I can't balance doing a hand stand yet, I've a ways to go yet  )

I bend the occasional nail - but want to get into it more seriously in the future. Steel bending, i don't know, perhaps when we have our own house so i can store all kinds of crap like steel bars and other strength training essentials :)
