Today the first LidaLoop was held, a MTB marathon race (60km), I was going to participate but a soar throat and the big race next weekend held me back... The weather was nice, but it had been raining for about 24h prior to the race, so some places were a bit damp. I just wanted to share this hillarious set of pictures taken at one of the worst places on the trail:

enjoy! :D

(noone was seriously hurt, and the photographers yelled to all cyclists that they should dismount or go round, but few listened... I wasn't there to see it myself unfortunately)

just once, marathon races are usually just one long track.

yeah, when you get to the not so experienced riders they fall all over the place.

as many other marathons it's a mixture between trails and gravel roads, so 60 km of trail is perhaps an overstatement. but it was located in a large forest area, so a minimum of roads I'd say, but since I wasn't there myself I can't really tell. Other marathon races have a mixture of everything, gravel, trail, and even som short parts of asphalt, since we're talking about races that sometimes are up to 120 km...
