I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I think only race times should count for this board. Race courses follow some certification process, whereas individuals aren't necessarily using those same practices. Times from races ensure standardization. As ninearms mentioned above, "It's not like the distance you run in a race is accurate anyway, unless you hit all the apexes." That's kind of the point. When you use your GPS or a pedometer or something similar, you're running exactly the distance. Part of racing well is knowing where to be and how to run the apexes. That's why there is a different section for track vs. road races. They're completely different, as is a time trial vs. an actual race. I think that training PRs are valuable and deserve just as much recognition, but I don't feel as though this board is the place for them.
