I like to workout to Eva Cassidy... I know, but I like to focus on good technique when working out, so I dont like to play anything to adrenalin pumping unless I am feeling lazy, in which case I pull out my angry music I accumilated whilst working full time on crap pay: very motivational. I also like to train Johnny Cash and Jeff Buckley

In the gym I workout to whatever the tv's producing. I have to admit I really like Blackeyed Peas, they're funny Other than that I listen to just about anything. I got quite a lot of classical stuff, only started listening to that since last year, but it's nice for chilling. But I also like Dead Prez, Paris, Busta Rhymes, I used to love DMX but I'm not so sure about him now, Mano Negra/Manu Chao, oldies like Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong. I also like some Pink stuff, high energy stuff and Tori Amos. The only thing I won't ever get used to is contemporary jazz - makes me itch!

I normally lift at the local gym, which plays the radio. but if I bring my portable cd player or I lift at home or whatever, I listen to:

death metal
hardcore
metalcore
speed metal
black metal

Neil and I talk to each other and occasionally shout (come on! You can do it, and so on). This means when we are able to get to the gym we are lifting to MTV crapola.

However when lifting at home I have been listening to Santana's last two albums (Turn out the light! Class. ) and The Alabama Three. Mainly I like the A3 because of their slightly sick lyrics (they take the piss out of religion something chronic) and Santana because if God played guitar that is what She would sound like.

Oh yeah - and that Elvis type remix "A little less conversation, a little more action please" - great for cardio!

Other than that my musical taste is somewhat eclectic. Lots of Celticy, folky, bluesy and jazzy stuff. Man I feel outnumbered by you metally folks. I haven't heard of half the bands you mentioned! You'll have to point me to mp3s so I can try the sound of them.

You listed pretty much all of mine, minus Megadeath, and Battlelore. And I'm not sure i'd be able to workout to hammerfall.

The haunted, ATG, and In Flames are all up at the top of my playlist... along with Killswitch Engage, Cradle of Filth, and Dimmu Borgir.

I have also been known to workout to Walls of Jericho, the Faint, and Ladytron.
