Yeah, I'm pretty psyched about that. I'm making some tofu misozuke at the moment. One more month and it'll be ready to eat!

Last year I made an easy lager, from a tin.
This year I am busy making my first brupack.

I started it during the hot spell, the first 3 days it bubbled like made then after a week stopped fermenting. Going to rack the first batch today, not sure if I have enough bottles. Might need to go hold up a bottle bank to get more.

I wanna try the nori flavor but im going to budapest in 2 weeks so I dont have 2 months till after this semester. Definitely wanna give it a try though

Got another batch of homebrew on, and this time I plan to prime it for secondary fermentation with maple syrup instead of sugar. I reckon it'll give the beer a subtle maple syrup flavour. Has anybody tried this?

No, but always meant to. What kind of beer are you trying it with? Figure it'd be ace with a darker, porter style kit.

Kinda ruby ale. I live in a soft water area, so I usually brew porter or stout, but I wanted an all-rounder this time, that's good for summer evenings (optimism).

First taste of the latest brew (Pilsner kit) positive; bit bland but clearer than anything else I've brewed. Current brew is the same kit with some brewers sugar and hopped-malt, promising a bit more character.

Which kit is it?

I had my first bottle of Ale from (using spray malt) http://www.brupaks.com/bchoice%20old.htm after 10 days it was not carbonated yet, which was a disappointment. Will give it more time and hope the batch is not all dead.

I'm a bit of a purist, I don't put any sugar in my beer, except for the bottle conditioning at the end.

How much maple syrup would you recommend per a pint, 5ml or maybe a little more? Bottling next batch up this weekend and might give the maple syrup a go.

I used 8ml per 500ml bottle, but I did dilute it with a bit of hot water first, so it'll work out about 5ml.
