London Meetup Sunday 29 April

Postby Talyn » Wed Apr 18, 2012 12:39 pm

A few VF'ers (andrewc, mabli) will be in London around this time, so we are going to organise a meetup.

Will be Sunday evening for dinner, maybe aim to meet up at 6pm?

Open to venue suggestions.....

Vantra is a possibility: http://www.vantra.co.uk/

Close at 8pm though...

Otherwise there are old favourites 222, Manna or Loving Hut?

http://www.inspiralled.net/ <- at vegan drinks everyone talks about this place, but seems very hippy.

I'm a hippy you iron-monkeys... ;) Lay off the tree huggers or I'll whack you with my digeridoo!

I'll come if there is no mini-skoptic (still waiting) and if we have to sit on the floor with a complementary set of bongos to annoy you... even better :)

Hippies are welcome, will you bring your dreadlocks?

inSpiral open mic events are a platform for new talent so if you have music, songwriting, performance, poetry or other artistic expression to share, this could be your chance to shine.

Might need to we are out of there before open mic starts at 20:00. :)

Are you really? Were you in disguise? You're the most normal looking hippy I've seen.

Ok, lets agree for Inspiral. Good food and skoptic gets to hang out with his bro's. If it gets too noisy we can go down the road and get some falafel.

Camden high street is a cesspit, Inspiral though the food is amazing is a dump, small, crowded and yes full of hippies. And if someone's on stage you cant hear yourself think!

If you want to impress a Melbournite with vegan food, take them to Saf! :)

I'm in for next Sunday.

I agree that Camden and Inspiral are a bit on the crowded side on a Sunday, but it's probably the easiest option. We could always get there a bit earlier so as to avoid the music. Or else just make sure you bring your banjos...

Saf in Shoreditch is no more :( Best high-end options are probably now Manna and Vanilla Black.

'fraid so. There's still a Saf counter/section in the Whole Foods Store in Kensington, but the main restaurant in east London shut a few weeks ago  I guess the hipsters like their ironic bangers and mash too much - clearly vegan food isn't ironic enough.

Anyway dont base your location decision on me. Despite Inspiral beign a short stroll down the canal I can't make Sunday. Some of the guy from my gym are fighting in Luton so going to support them. Enjoy!

How about back to Talyns original idea of Vantra?
