New Tesco Range

I hope I haven't missed a thread on this already but this is quite an innovation so I felt I needed to mention it.

Has anyone seen/tried the new Tesco free from range?

Their new range includes vegan cheeses, deserts, cream cheeses, dips, milks and more.

Their cheeses are really nice and the closest consistency to actual cheese that I've ever tried.

Good find , i would check as they probably have egg in many of them.

I often find that from the free from range that egg seems to be the hidden binder in many of the products thus not vegan.

powerlifer, this entire range is Vegan friendly - I've checked. I was sceptical at first because, like you said, a lot of their 'free from' shelf stuff has egg in it, but this range has 'suitable for vegans' on everything.

I've tried the mild and medium cheeses and they're lovely. They cut and melt like actual cheese!

I've tried their vanilla and chocolate desert drinks and yoghurts and they are so creamy. I actually prefer them to alpro stuff.

I wasn't too keen on their chocolate and coconut drink, simply because I was hoping for a creamy milkshake and it was rather thin in consistency.

I haven't tried their dips and creamy spreads yet.

I just felt, that for a major supermarket to bring out their own Vegan cheeses, is such a huge step for the market.

Great news! I look forward to seeing a grocery chain over here having a range of such products. For the most part, the only such store brand products tend to be soy milks...

Intriguing.....I've not had anything resembling cheese since I went vegan some 14months ago. I don't miss cheese much, but I REALLY miss pizza. I've been wanting to make myself an epic vegan pizza for months now but I don't have much faith in vegan cheese (looks rubbery!). Might have to check this shizzle out.

Made by bute island the folk who make scheese, some of it tastes like pants but the creme caramel is good. Their stuff seems really high in saturated fat

imagine if this causes rivals to bring out their own branded vegan cheeses and yoghurts,competition will no doubt knock prices down and force improvements to formulas/textures. Vegan cheese is OK here in australia but expensive as most of it is imported (well except one powdery yukky brand).

That's very helpful. I was beginning to get annoyed having checked over 10 different tescos (I got a bit desperate and check the little ones too). But now I know where I'm doing my shopping tomorrow- the one I forgot existed, sods law

Same here. For some reason they've chosen to pilot it in the worst store in the area that I avoid at all costs. Maybe because it was the first Tesco in the area, eighteen years ago, but you'd think they'd want to pilot something like this in the busiest store...
