I've got a pair of those, and I'm happy with them. Nice for when I want to look smart occasionally.
Also worth a look at Veganline, they have a few styles of smart shoes, made in the UK. I've got a pair of their bouncing boots, and I like them. http://www.veganline.com/

Have you look at boy's school shoes? They'll usually at least go up to a 6 if the shop does older boy's stuff and are cheaper. A lot of them are 'synthetic' which I assume means pleather and don't look like kids shoes (so long as you avoid the velcro). I'm not sure where isn't sweat shopped though

I got my last shoes from BHS. Nearly all their kids shoes aren't leather. I just checked their men's shoes too and looks like a lot of them aren't leather and all are clear marked

Currently in need of new smart shoes for work. I did get a pair from Next but ended up taking them back as they felt really cheap (not surprising given they are so cheap, but you take my point), plus the reviews on their website are pretty bad in terms of durability.

Ended up just ordering another pair of the Kent Clarks from Vegetarian Shoes. A bit dull & it pains me to spend that much on a pair of shoes but I know they'll last years.

They were at a Vegan Fair and they guy was very enthusiastic about their ethics, not just vegan credentials. I would have to say that up to now shoes has been a drawback to veganism. My feet are a state and they stink.

don't know about dull. A young lady recently confided in me that my vegetarian shoes kicks were instrumental in her being hopelessly afflicted with Muppet fever. True story.
