Rubbish to hear about your wrist. Hope you can work round it for the comp.

Tendinitis is serious shit. I dealt with it for years because I would just take tons of ibuprofen and ignore it. At one point it had gotten so bad that even making a peanut butter sandwich brought me to tears. I had to stop playing bass for a long time as well. So it sucked in many ways.

Mine was from squeezing and twisting clamps 1000+ times a day while I worked in a factory, so it was similar to what you have I think. Ice, ibuprofen and stretching all helped, but stretching is apparently best left till after things are healing pretty well because it's possible to rupture an inflamed tendon by stretching. I'm now in the habit of stretching my wrists all the time as a preventative measure, especially when I am doing something stressful on the wrist/grip.

^^These are the stretches I do now and they seem to be pretty good.

thanks everyone for your support, appreciate it :)

Been icing, nailing ibu, wearing a cast, doing mobility stuff - i will handle this.

Today back to the gym, all fired up.

First session this week really, all rested and ready.

Squat
5x60
5x60
3x60
3x100
1x140
wraps:
1x180
1x210
1x222.5
1x232.5 pb - pretty easy :) Target: 240 before the comp
5x210 - pb

18 inch deads to 1x270

stiffies to 1x170

wrist said no, and i listened.

yeah its been there for a while, just needed to be pulled out :)

To be honest i was pretty determined to do something confidence building, so in that sense squat was a good choise.

Today did what i could without stressing my wrist.

some random pressing on machines and so on (shoulder parallel grip press machine being the best)

incline log, small log, start deadstop from chest
5x52
5x52
3x72
3x92
3x102
3x112 - suprised i got this to be honest!
5x102

stiff leg deads
no straps this time, first time pulling without straps in ages
5x5x100-130kg
1x170
1x170
1x200
1x222.5 - pb i think?
1x230 - pb

well, not sure if that is a pb. It was comfy though, pulling without straps feels a bit easier, like the bar comes in a better path.

outside:

76kg metal block press practise

learned that:
a. clean will be hard with heavier weights
b. cant put much leg drive to it at all

some farmers pick ups.

Fuck the wrist. Squat PB with an ass that hurts every second workout. Now that´s impressive!

Be well soon!

man on a mission.

deadlifts with a big rowdy OSG crew
5x70
3x70
1x70
1x120
1x170
1x200
1x220
2x250 - pb

half of the mission accomplished

then tried to clean the log - wrist is fine, press - fine, lowering - fucking painful.

travs simple but effective idea: after pressing, two spotters lower the log for me. Beautiful, no pain what so ever.

strict log
3x70
3x70
1x80
1x92.5
1x100
1x107.5 - pb
1x110 - pb

confidence boost! (leaving out the fact that its still really weak in the CoC crew, for me its a milestone!)

machine wide grip rows
20 x stack
18 x stack

lats of doom...

Two more sessions before CoC.

Hey so many PB's from you lately, nice going! :D

Seems like you're peaking at just the right time, despite the niggles.
