thanks man!

Dont think anyone off VF is coming, its in swinton so cant blame anyone :D

Todays session...

subptimal, had a plan for log graft, but all reps felt so shaky that there was no point going upwards.

Spirits are not high at the moment, the champions comp is a level above (realistic, not negative assesment), so need to adjust mentally for it in a different way. Just focus on personal goals for the day and fuck the rest!

I will try to come? If that's cool that is

And yes comp looks.... tough

Couple of sites saying its on the 18th not the 4th... will suck for anyone turning up!

I thought that was the point of strongman. Am always seeing guys come last in some event then jumping around and yelling cause that was better than they had ever dreamed of doing. It's actually my long term goal right now, to come last in some comps that are too heavy for me

Mostly that´s my every competition.
Be it RAW Cup or the world´s. Maybe I should begin to incorporate some strategy for a change.
Current PBs:
195 kg SQ, 130 kg Bench, 245 kg DL, 200 kg SQ w/ wraps

Long Term Goals:
@ 75 kg: SQ - 252,5 kg, SQ w/ Wraps - 267,5 kg, DL - 307,5 kg, Total (w/ and w/o Wraps) - 710
@ 82,5 kg: SQ - 275 kg, SQ w/ Wraps - 277,5 kg, Total (w/ and w/o Wraps) - 772,5 kg

That's the plan for now muppetman. I had thought I would never be able to gain enough weight to not kill myself in some goofy event, but if a skinny guy like JP can do it, why not me?

muchluv, defo welcome! Though if there is no crew coming, it might get a bit boring :)

yeah i appreciate that is the right mental frame of mind, but getting somewhere in the sport is like a double edged sword, you start expecting things from yourself too.

But then the comps get just crazy heavy in the process...

I am happy that I have even been invited, thats an honour, but i would like to show that the invitation was not wasted on me!

5x202.5 - maybe a pb, but not a true one, felt comfy.

15 inch deads
1x150
1x180
1x210
1x250
2x270

Stiff legs
3x110
1x150

all pressing done with logs for few weeks now to give my right wrist a break. Holding barbells and axles is just too painful. But i think thats fine, can do my normal small jerks with a log, push presses, strict presses, incline bench, dumbell work...

small log from blocks
5x52
5x52
3x52
3x72
2x92
2x112
1x112

left about 700 fails to set the log on my shoulders out... conclusion: this is bullshit and has no mileage.

log push press
5x70
5x90
5x100
5x110 - happy about that, felt powerful!

strict log
1x90
3x100
9x85

dumbell shoulder press sitting down
12x20
12x28
12x28

lat raises and then a crazy drop set bodybuilding pump the burn lat raises

high rep curls

Road trip to salt ayre centre in lancaster with crazy OSG crew.

My session was poor, afteerwards thinking about it, lack of sleep lately, having a bit of a cold, and general life changes and stresses caught up with me. or not, it might have just been one of those days when thing dont fire properly.
t
Next week will train just three times but will make them count, tuesday and wednesday in OSG, and then champions of champions crew road trip to swindon to test the equipment on saturday.

i got some random shit done, ie:

farmers various walks, 110, 130 and 140 for 13-15ish metre runs - then glute injury made pick ups painful

yoke 300 and 320 laborous walks

yesterday hurt my wrist even more.

Visited docs, i have De Quervain's Tendinitis. She said it wont be healed before champion of champions comp, but i guess thats what the docs would say.

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00007

need to rest the wrist, which means... what the fuck can i do?

in retrospect (hindsight, what a wonderful thing...) should have had a more drastic rest a while back already but i thought i was training around the injury.

lets see.

Max healing vibes, are you icing it religiously? I don't mean once every Sunday, I mean like 5 times a day kind of religion.
It it is just swelling then maybe easy to manage? Unless something is torn and damaged in there.

very sorry to hear about the wrists :(

You can certainly deadlift with Buzz's magic Strengthshop hooks I'd imagine. Might be able to do other stuff with them (pull ups maybe but they didn't help my wrists on that) but I never experimented much. I think they would also be helpful for farmers walks maybe too.
