I've been vegan for about 8 years (with a couple of vegetarian stints in there due to pressure from doctors whilst pregnant and also just generally falling off the wagon)
I am vegan for ethical and environmental reasons. But I am quite unhealthy. I would like to turn my diet and physical habits around to work for my health. I have 3 children and I'm 26 and I feel much older. I want to have a life when I am old and I want to do more things with my kids and be a better example to them. I want to look good and love myself and put my health first! I am here because I need your help! Trying things alone is not working......
My diet is pretty healthy most of the time but I find that I tend to binge a bit and also have a massive sweet tooth. My husband eats a lot of unhealthy stuff and I think I let him influence me (not that I'm trying to shift the blame, it's my body my choice) I tend to have good intentions but end up a bit all over the place. I have a big interest in raw food diet but find it hard to sustain due to financial constraints and my inability to get to the shops when I need to.
My biggest problem is most definitely my fitness. It is zero! I have gotten into some very lazy habits again probably due to having young children, no drivers license, not much to do at home except look after the kids. I also am a student so a lot of my time is taken up at uni or studying. I don't really have a lot of time to exercise or a means to go anywhere, and if I did it is so hard to do anything with 3 kids in tow so why bother? I have tried getting up early, before the kids do. They hear me and come out and ruin my workout. At night after they go to bed all I want to do is collapse on the couch with exhaustion and struggle so find some "me" time. I know this sounds like a pile of excuses, but that's why I'm here because I want to change!!
I would love some suggestions of how to get out of my exercise rut!!
Also any tips on what exercises I could start with that are cheap, no equipment, etc. I bought myself a 2nd hand bike recently but find it so hard to ride - I get such a sore bottom from the seat! I know I need to stand up right? well my balance is not too flash but I will give it a whirl! Any other ideas? I really would like to do a boot camp or join some kind of group that does simple body weight exercises outdoors preferably. Would love to do yoga but the classes in my area are so expensive. (I apologise if I sound a bit whingey about the expense of things. It's just that we are in a very tight spot financially at the moment and it is a major thing I have to consider in every action of our lives, hopefully this will change soon!)
Anyways that's me^ lookin forward to meeting you all and getting fit
