I find being away from computers/internet access can help.
I agree with this
I often sit down and make myself study timetables instead of studying, ridiculous! Even though I love what I'm studying I think the whole stress factor and the fact that I have a deadline makes me want to somehow subconsciousnessly rebel and put off my study, but if it was for just simple enjoyment I would do it quite happily. It's shooting myself in the foot really. And often once you get started you think "this isn't so bad, why didn't I just do this earlier instead of wasting all that time avoiding it?"
Anyway if I find myself starting to avoid study I force myself to go into uni or the library when I should be doing my home study. I find that once I'm there I have no problems getting motivated to get it done, because there's nothing else to do. I think it's because I just associate that space with studying and I asociate my home with relaxation (especially in the evenings). So I often go to uni at 8pm and stay for a couple of hours, it makes it not seem like such a chore.
I also have a general rule that I'm not allowed to check facebook or private emails or do anything non study related whilst at uni/library, that way I don't associate the uni computers with fun stuff. and I can't get distracted when I take a five minute break that accidently turns into an hour of facebook tetris....
