I think that environmental people in [3] want us all to eat a little bit of meat and don't accept that the best way of bringing down the average is to make their own zero. They also often want to differentiate themselves from animal people, who are more likelt to be vegan, and I think there's a subconcious feeling that not being vegan helps make that differentiation.

Or maybe I'm over analysing it?

Door number two? :)

I think it is just easier for them to think about giving up meat a few times a week rather than giving up all animal products forever. To their credit, at least they are open minded. I've seen people freak out over even going to one meatless meal at one event.

Well, sharing that link on facecrack made a few of my friends go 'oh my god, that's terrible, I'll share!'

They then shared it on the crack saying 'buy free range!!' - I pointed out that it wasn't about that, but general egg consumption, and suddenly their despair at such a situation was diminished (basically when they actually had to DO something about it)

f*ckers ;)

i think free range is great - they will do something about it - and from there its easier to leave eggs alltogheter

the eggs are more expensive - so its easeir to give up
they dont close there head to the logic of changing the food they eat for the animals
other stuff i woint write cause i need to be studying now ...

i think its much better than nothing

Yup - I agree as a welfarist, but I had to comment on the fact that they had shared my post and skewed the point of it. I can't let my post be copied through cyberspace with an incorrect solution attached to it.

I was nice and friendly, but just pointed out that the particular image / process they were abhorred by was not going to be fixed by simply going free range :)
