Hi from Melbourne Australia

Postby ruby71 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 9:09 pm

Hi there - good to stumble on this web-site. I've been vegetarian for ages and am now making the change to vegan. I'm a cyclist with a heavy training schedule and wondering what people use / recommend for protein powder... seems to be a lot of interest in hemp protein but not sure it's readily available in Melbourne.

Looking forward to learning more on this awesome site.

Cheers,
:P

Welcome to the site.

Pretty sure you can get anything vegan in Melbourne, seems to be the vegan capital of the world! Check out this thread for some protein powders that are available in Oz.

And the Melbournians take over the lead from the Swedes!

Hello & Welcome to VeganFitness Ruby! :D

Though I haven't yet visited Melbourne, I am pretty sure that Portland remains the official Vegan World HQ!

Welcome. I know you used to be able to get the Vital Greens pea protein there, I imagine you still can. I'm quite happy with the taste, as long as there some additional flavour in the soya or whatever I mix it with.

hi, welcome!

i help run the uproar store (www.uproar.org.au/shop), which is a volunteer run non profit vegan store to raise money for vegan education campaigns and we have a few good vegan proteins including vital greens protein and nitrofusion. if you're after hemp i think you can get "non human grade" hemp flour from a number of places locally.
