Gym access going to be patchy during festive period. Went today & not sure when I'll get there again; might not be until next Wednesday.

On Monday I did a bunch of push up variations & some gripper stuff at home.

Gym today I did all 3 5/3/1 exercises; not optimal obviously but the only option really:

Cycle 2.4
Workout 2

Dips:
5x20
3x36.25
3x48.75
4x61.25

Scaffold Pull Ups:
6@BW
3x10
3x21.25
4x32.5 - NO CHALK so grip went, meh.

Belt Squat:
4x60
3x85
3x95
4x105
7x5
12x85

Cross Pulls:
5x5

Then finished off with a superset medley: close grip chins - rings dips - GHR

Got to gym again today unexpectedly; still a bit sore from maxing out 48 hours ago but never mind. Dedcided to re-do the pull up routine with aid of chalk.

Cycle 2.4
Pull Workout 2

Scaffold Pull Ups:
2x6@BW
3x10
3x21.25
6x32.5
6x21.25
8x10

Ring Dips:
3x10

Belt Squat:
up to
3x10x95 - hood up, xmoshxcorex on , no-one here but me & my friend pain 8)

Rev Rows - close-grip underhand:
3x10

ATB:
3x10

Lats too fried for any pull up fireworks, squats were sweet though.

4 mile run today. Hard work due to excessive apple pie consumption.

You are attaching 100 kg to a belt??? And WTF with the "mass building arm specialization" workout? Seems very not hardcore to me

Essentially yes, and then I squat standing on 'step' platforms so the plates don't touch the ground. It's an Ironmind belt built for squatting so no danger of it snapping under the weight though.

The disco arm shit is only at the end of a workout for shits & giggles. What can I say, I work out in a proper hardcore BB gym so the disconess rubs off on me

Sunday: 5k run.

Barely managed it without stopping, reckon I must've added some weight.

F*ck-around/deload time again.

Belt Squat:
3x75
2x95
2x105
1x115 pb
1x117.5 pb
3fx120 - got the 1st one halfway up

Ring Dips:
3x10

Scaffold Pull Up:
3x10

Plank:
120 secs

Perhaps not surprisingly having 120kg hanging off a belt ain't too comfy (chaffage); looks pretty hardcore though.

This belt squat thing still seems dangerous to me. How are you getting onto the platform with the plates hanging off your belt? Also, how does this not make you unable to have children?

I'm at one of those BB gyms as well and sometimes get talked in to doing ridiculous exercises.

Actually in many ways it's a lot less dangerous than a barbell squat as you won't get squashed if you fail a lift. The belt is purpose built for squatting (even guys like Terry Hollands & Magnus Samuelsson have used the exact same belt so if it's good enough for them...!) & I've then modified slightly by using foam piping to act as thigh pads.

The platform isn't that high & I can get up easily enough by using another lower platform as a halfway step. I do get some chaffing on my thighs, but again no more than you'd get on your shoulders from a back squat. It's hard to visualise if you've never seen anyone doing it but the belt strap & the plates don't actually get that near the groin area so no danger of me emasculating myself either :D

I finally got around to looking up belt squat videos. Most of them were exactly as I thought it would be, squatting with weights on a dip belt, and look pretty risky to me, but the Iron mind squat belt looks better.

I didn't even think about having hooks on both sides of the belt so a barbell could be attached with chains or straps. That would make the whole thing a lot more viable an option.
