Toe injuries and running

Postby sixthe » Fri Jan 06, 2012 5:34 am

I recently got into running, and I've made a fair bit of progress considering where I started, and I'd hate for it all to be undone just because I hurt my toe. Basically, I got a nasty gash on the pad of my big toe and I can't even walk normally at the moment.

So my question is, can I keep running on it when it stops hurting so much or would it probably just make it worse? And what would be the best exercise to do in the meantime to keep up endurance?

Sounds nasty, how did you do it? Any pictures?
If you can hardly walk, could you actually run on it?

Long story short I fell off from standing on a chair and landed skidding on my toe on the concrete

Here's a low quality picture of it: http://oi41.tinypic.com/v74l6t.jpg

I mean, I mostly can't walk right because it stings, but I'm hoping that'll mostly go away soon... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking

Just hop for a bit until it gets better, then hop for the same amount of time on the now healed foot to balance it out. Sorted!
“Begin at the beginning,” the King said gravely, “and go on till you come to the end. Then stop.”
