Deadlift race to 180kg

A (hopefully short) deadlift race to 180kg

Talyn and myself are already in (about same bw and about same starting lifts so will be interesting!). Who else is game?

please give your startings lifts and usernames if you want to play :)

Orkje: 180kg on Feb 23rd 2012
Mellos (the skinny mellos) 180kg on May 9th 2012 [pulled 185kg]
Tayln: 180kg [lifted 192.5kg] on July 7th 2012
Lordmuppet: 176kg
Vegan Hal: 174.6kg
Dublin Dave: 170kg
Seitanic 170kg
Konstantin 140kg
Big Good Wolf: 135kg (in a tent)

Rules are same as for strength table.

180kg lifts require a video so plan ahead

As with other race once someone hits 180kg, everyone else has exactly one week to also lift 180kg and tie the race.

Count me in...my 1RM was 165kg...but it is probably more like 150kg now...anyway, nothing like a challenge to focus training...I'll max out next week to determine my current 1RM... 8)

Hmmm, I've been thinking I ought to either join a gym (unlikely), or build some sort of shelter outside so I can start lifting again.
Don't count me in just yet, I'll see if I can clear a space and rig up something with 3x2 timber and some old scrap sections of army tentage first.

Just a tip for you guys (which isn´t really secret rocket science but helps):
Find your weak spot. Work on it. Get stronger.
Worked for me.

Just max out and see where you fail.
Do you fail at lifting it off the ground? Only do deadlifts standing on a platform for some time.
Do you fail somewhere in the middle? Do pin pulls.
Lockout is your problem? You might need stronger lats and traps.

And speed deadlifts after your heavy set(s) always work.

ok. I'm game..

174.6 is my 1RM. done a few months back. been stuck repping @ 170 lately. i think you'll all beat me to 180 -- even BGW.

looked up the log book and realised I've actually done 162kg a few months back :)
