Not a proper runner, but my diet for mountain bike races up to 24 hours solo is mainly licorice and fruit jellies plus gels and Shot Bloks.

I'm still experimenting to find what suits me best. I find Torq energy drink the most tolerable of those that I've tried, but it gets a bit sickly after a while, which puts me off drinking.
I'm thinking of getting all my sugar from gels and solids and just drinking water in the future, or maybe carrying two water bottles, one for Torq and one for water.
