Fat loss group?

Anybody interested in doing some kind of fat loss group for a month or so? I am just trying to shed about 10-15 lbs, trying to lose fat and keep muscle. I could sure use the extra motivation of talking with some other people who are also trying to do this!

I know there are MANY other sites where people lose weight together, but since I'm vegan and not looking to drop weight at the expense of my health / running speed / strength / emotional health I thought this board might be great.

I expect my goal will take more than a month, but a month seems good for a start, then we can extend it if people find it useful.

We could report in once a week on progress, and check in for encouragement whenever, also.

Any takers?

lf this violates a rule / culture of the board, never mind and sorry! I looked to see if anyone did this here before and it seems it is only the strength trainers who have done this, sort of within other challenges?

I know sometimes this site (and VBB, etc.) will have weight loss or fitness challenges which run a month or two or six or whatever, but they haven't been popping up lately. Perhaps getting a new one going is a good idea!

I've been cutting since March, but it has stagnated since around August.

My timeframe is by mid-February (VFW South Africa trip).

10-15 lbs is quite a lot to lose in just one month. You might be better off taking longer, if that's your goal.

But I guess it depends on how much you weigh now.

I'd like to keep weight off, lose some too. I just need to stop eating cake every day but if its a group/competition Ill be more focussed

I'd be up for this but I wouldnt be able to start for a couple of weeks - I have a lot of uni work to do and dieting does not go well with that, haha.

You are right Talyn, in a month I don't think I can lose more than 8 lbs without being miserable. So that will be my goal for this challenge and then I/we can keep going after that.

muchluv, I agree, a lot of uni work and dieting together sucks. Plus maybe the stress will raise your cortisol and make it even harder to lose (if that's how it works - I think I read that somewhere but maybe it's a myth). So yeah just come on in, in a couple of weeks!

mabli you look slender in your avatar already! But you know what is best for you, I'm happy to have you join, and you can help us beat the bulkers! I know it can be very difficult to stop eating something you are used to, like cake.

thestoatyone and baldy, keep posting. You're going down!

I'm going to start a new topic now for the actual challenge.

If I end up losing weight by accident can I switch teams? Do not want to bring shame onto my bulking brothers. :evil:

You spend a weekend with JP, falafel AND curry, yet still manage to lose weight. That by definition, is shame.
