This is very appropriate thread as tomorrow is the start of Movember!

I know cheap disposables work for some applications but I shave my head, its coarse, thick hair and anything with less than 3 blades will rip me to shreds! wish there was something to unseat gillette.. I remember how well theirs worked back in the day..

Problems solved. I will be ordering this within the month. It's cheap (high initial cost but blades are 20 cents each), vegan-friendly, and classy as well!

You can also quite often find them second-hand quite cheaply! :D

I used to collect vintage razors, I think I have like 50 or so of that kind in a box somewhere :) Wet shaving is really nice, especially the old school way with soap and a brush. However, finding a good brush that isn't made of badger's, or any other animal for that matter, hair, is really difficult, and made me give up this particular way of shaving when I turned vegan 12 years ago :(

I don't have a lot of experience, but I have been happy with my synthetic brush from The Body Shop....

haven't really looked into this for almost 12 years, so things just might have changed since then :)

someone here in Oz put me onto the Azor (from king of shaves) which comes in variants up to five blades! working nicely except I used a small personna (crappier blades but smaller footprint) to get the boney bits on the back of my skull ! http://www.shave.com/azor/

sadly I have to report that the Azor sucks for headshaving. I was enthused when I got it but part of the gimmick is the handle which is purposefully extremely bendy - the blades themselves are awesome to when you shave in a straight, flat line it will leave no trace of stubble but its flex makes it impossible to get into contours of the skull. also the handle wore away at the flex point and broke 1 month after me buying it.. I cant find any handle that takes the blades either.

Im back on personna blades - they are OK , just have to be careful, Im emailing Schick again about their moisture strips cause they passed me onto someone a year ago and I didnt get a reply from them. will report back soon!

an update on Schick... they (as with a year before now) said they were forwarding my email to the relevant department ... now the tumbleweed, 3 weeks, no reply.
