I'm a veg*n living in the best little capital in the world (aka Wellington, NZ). I've been a vegetarian for about 9 years, although there were a few months last year where I went back to being omni. When I went vegetarian the first time I didn't do it for ethical reasons, I rarely ate animal products anyways and it was a 'cool' thing at the time and I just ended up sticking with it I guess (sad I know!) Fast forward and I've realised that even though NZ has that clean, green image there still is animal cruelty everywhere. Just because the cow had a (supposedly) happy life on green pastures doesn't make it right for me to eat it or take it's breast milk away. I'm sure some of you won't understand why I went back for that short period (some of my friends didn't) but I had to go through this and 'learn my lesson' and I'm glad I did it!!
I'm still transitioning over from lacto (there's the odd slip up, esp when eating out and not realising...) Oh and I'm a runner (well trying to be) and am into strength training as well so am hoping to share some tips etc on here.
I'm sorry for the long-ish post but I wanted to be honest about my veg*nism when posting on here in future (if you let me that is

)
