I have problems under eating too. Few things I (and others) find helps to eat more

1) Distracted eating: eat while doing something else so you don't think so much about eating. TV works best for me.

2) Eating fast: fullness cues don't kick in for about 15 minutes regardless of how much you eat in that 15 minutes.

3) eat something sweet first (e.g. one oatcake with jam). For some reason this kickstarts mind and others appetites. I'm not sure why.

sorry things are rough

Lordy lord this training log has become pathetic!

Good news: Last week I got back on track with proper eating and although sleeping is still an issue, my stress level has gone down a bit.

I'm arriving into London November 5th to see habibi. We need to have serious discussions face to face. Since the week of November 7th-11th there are 3 public holidays and no school, I took advantage of that 2-day work week to fly over.

I guess I'm feeling happier knowing that I will see him again in less than 2 weeks... but I'm also nervous/dreading what decisions will be made by the end of my stay.

I started a thread in the travel section to see if anyone wants to meet up while I'm over there.

This morning I went for a short-ish run -- ran twice around the lake near my house. The sun and crisp autumn weather made the run more enjoyable.

cardio: 27:30 minute run around lake

I'm not making any promises but I'd either like to go for a run again tomorrow morning or hit the gym. I don't plan on starting the 5X5 program again until I come back from England. For now, when I do go to the gym, I'll still do some front and back squats among other things just so I don't completely go jello.

Went for a run again this morning, felt really nice. Sunshine, slight breeze, beautiful scenery. Ran around the lake once, then ran down a few blocks to a pond, went around part of that and then ran through some streets back to my house.

cardio: 30:18 minute run outside

Feeling happier :D *Fingers crossed* tomorrow I'll head back to the gym.

Strength is a whole body thing, and that includes the mind. It's okay to fail some attempts, as long as you keep making progress towards your own personal goals. Be strong sista! ;-)

*hugs* Thanks guys, glad to be feeling more like myself again.

Went for a run this morning on the beach. It was a bit cold but the sunshine still felt nice on my face.

Cardio: 35:13 minute run outside

Tomorrow and Sunday (provided I'm not terribly hungover) I will definitely go to the gym. No more excuses!

Excited to do some squats tomorrow, my butt ain't what it used to be!

Finally made it back to the gym. Felt a little weak though. Still haven't gotten my blood tested for low iron but I'm hoping the vitamins I've been taking will help.

front squats: 5X10 40, 50, 50, 60, 60 lbs
DB curls: 2X10 15 lbs
DB alternating hammer curls: 2X20 15 lbs
assisted dips and chin ups: 2X10 each
captain's chair: 2X20
plank and mountain climbers on Bosu

Pretty light session, didn't want to push it. I could feel my inner thighs and hips were a bit tight when I was dropping down for those squats. Depth and form were still good considering my long absence from the gym.

Going to a Halloween party tonight woo! I tried to find the least slutty costume at the Halloween store and wound up with something that somewhat covers a good chunk of my skin. I guess I'm being a winter huntress, or a hunter who whacks people tryng to kill animals or something. Will post pictures soon :D

 definitely!!!!

The party was a lot of fun last night, still feel pretty hungover right now at 3 p.m. so there's a strong possibility I'm not going to the gym today.

Posted some pictures on FB a few minutes ago so if you're friends with me on there you'll be able to see them.

Alright alright alright!!!

SO... here's the deal: I flew to England to see habibi and to talk about our issues. In a nutshell, spending time with him was amazing and I was very happy to be in his arms again. The night before I left to fly back home, we had a tough discussion about the reality of our situation and what's been going on with our relationship, etc. After that difficult conversation, we were both left with the desire to really try harder to make this relationship work because we love each other too much to lose one another right now. We still have some unresolved issues that may or may not be overcome in the future/long run but, for now, we're still together and I'm feeling much happier.

It was really nice seeing some former university friends while I was in Norwich, and also having dinner with Talyn, baldy, mouche and my friend Nayani (who I used to work with in Bangalore) in London. Habibi and I also met up with ninearms, his wife, and son at the Natural History Museum. It's always nice meeting VF members in person (finally!!!!) after so many years chatting with them online!

While I was staying with habibi, we went on a really long run one day... maybe just under 55 minutes?

I'm ready to start back up at the gym again, feeling refreshed and motivated to let out my stress by pumping iron vs. losing my temper with students.

Today's squat session:

10X bar
5X5 70, 75, 85, 95, 105 lbs
3X1 115, 125, 135 lbs
1XF 145 lbs
10X bar

I guess the excitement of being in the squat cage again inspired me to do singles up to a little more than BW squat. I think if I went to 140 lbs (current BW) first before 145, I would have gotten it. Unfortunately, I went too low on the 145 attempt and didn't have the push to stand upright again. Still, not too bad after not lifting for over a month!

Theoretically I should be taking a picture of myself in my bikini next week, as previously planned alongside the completion of the 5X5 stronglifts program. Unfortunately, I totally fell off the wagon with that one!!!

Trying to keep the positivity going... looking forward to getting back on track :D

Good news! Also means your more likely to come to the UK again soon, so its pretty much win win for everyone.
Slow and steady build up to 5x5 then smash some pbs!

Legs and bum were quite sore after Tuesday, ooph! My stiffness was a nice reminder to not stay out of the gym for so long haha.

My brother came back from university last night and I hung out with him all day. We're going to a party tonight. Looking forward to it 8)

This evening's session:

cardio: 20 min HIIT session on treadmill

squats: 5X bar warm up; 5X5 65, 75, 85, 95, 100 lbs
front squats: 3X5 55, 65, 70 lbs
DB lunges: 3X10 (2) 20 lbs
DB calf raises: 2X15 (2) 30 lbs

Unfortunately some jerk broke the Valeo belt I was borrowing at the gym. I tried a different one but it was too wide/big for my back and felt uncomfortable. I think I'll ask my brother to buy me a belt for Hanukkah.

for reasons i can't fully remember (other than it is better for fat loss) I think it's better to do cardio after the weights.

perhaps others will chip in on this point.

I actually did the HIIT session after lifting. I guess it's a habit of putting cardio first before weights when I document my workouts, but I almost always do cardio after weights. I need to save my initial energy for lifting! Thanks for your input though -- mental note to list workout in correct order
