Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall on eating puppies

This is getting a lot of publicity in the UK, mainly I guess to promote his new TV series.
Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall who is always very vocal on animal welfare and wrote a very good piece in "Eating" by Jim Mason and Peter Singer.
During a radio interview he tried to point out that eating a pig was the same as eating a puppy. It has since been quoted everywhere and not really getting a good reception. It's really sad that people get so defensive when you talk about puppies and livestock.

I like this Hugh guy. When people talk about how you can be a vegetarian who eats chickens,
I usually say that I'm also a vegetarian but that I make an exception for kittens.

I like HFW, at least he's elevating the quality of discussion on the other side of the fence.

I watched his new programme yesterday, I thought it was rather good. He has gone vegetarian for the new series. He was saying that most people eat too much meat, and rely on it too much when cooking.

Some interesting recipes, most of them seemed to be pretty much vegan. I now need to head to the beach to find some dulse...
