Thanks for all the kind words fellas!

Unfortunately, I missed a week of workouts... AGAIN. I think it was a combination of dealing with a breaking heart  + being stressed at work because of some A-hole students + not eating enough. I'm feeling physically weak and emotionally drained.

All last week I couldn't get out of bed until the last minute before having to jump on the train for work. I felt dizzy in class a few times and almost passed out on Thursday.

I had off from work today because of a public holiday and contemplated going to the gym to start the next round of sessions... but opted out because I don't think I'm physically up to lifting heavy weights right now.

So the plan for this week is to:

A) See a doctor either on Wednesday or Thursday for blood tests -- besides fatigue I've also been bruising very easily which is a sign of vitamin deficiency.
B) Focus on getting better nutrition and eating more -- I've probably been consuming less than 1,000 calories a day and I definitely haven't been eating enough protein to support my weight training.
C) Force myself out of bed in the morning and at least go for a walk, run or bike ride -- I need the endorphins pumping so I don't feel as sad.
D) Prepare myself to continue training with the program next week.

Today I went for a bike ride just before sunset, the ocean looked so beautiful -- a light glass-like blue.

cardio: 53:15 minutes cycling

I'm hoping to start this week on a clean slate with my students, and get back on a happier and healthier path. I'm still dating habibi but we're both confused on next steps and what to do about our relationship. Long distance is hard enough but gets even harder when a break-up is approaching and you can't even say goodbye to that special someone face to face .

I think you need to be realistic with what training you can fit in. Your schedule and stress load is intense so dont set yourself crazy targets then feel bad when you cant meet them. Better to just accept you can lift once a week over a weekend maybe, try get a couple of runs in during the week for some stress relief.
Once your life settles down and your in a solid routine go back to 3 days a week. You got to be nice to yourself.

Sending some long distance heart healing vibes your way. Your life path isn't easy but at least its not boring.

And for christ sake eat something, 1000 calories is just nonsense, you live in america the home of the 2000 calorie starbucks latte.

in addition to what badly said maybe look at doing bodyweight stuff (push ups, pistol squats, planking) when you can't spare the time the commute to gym takes.

JP - they are called Bodyrock! I love those workouts, they are super hard. As for the charming woman who makes the videos, lets not get into that :P

Kali - Sorry about Habibi, you two seemed super happy together :( . Just hang in there!

Hey Kali, sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Defo eat more, maybe also get your iron levels checked? Tiredness, dizziness and bruising can be related to anaemia amongst other things. You've probably already seen it but there's a directory of exercises on erxnet inc plyometrics stuff that could be done at home. http://www.exrx.net/index.html

2XBW Deadlift... Eventually!

Postby KaliBaby » Sun Oct 16, 2011 6:26 pm

Thank you all for your kind words and support, I really appreciate it :D

Well, despite my best intentions, I continued to run myself into the ground this week with not eating properly and not getting enough sleep. I had to break up another fight in my classroom on Wednesday. That was fun.

If I can muster up the energy I'd like to take Brutus for a walk this afternoon because it's so nice and sunny outside.

Conversations are continuing with habibi. I don't know whether I should visit him in November or not, would that make the break up all the more painful? My heart is telling me I have to see him, my brain is telling me to wake up and be rational about things.

I'm going food shopping in a little bit so I can have my meals planned for the week. I would love to do some form of exercise at least twice this upcoming week (provided I get rid of my cold and have the energy).

The 5X5 program is post-poned for now. My poor health and broken heart need some more healing time
