Snatch Trash Talking Race Thread

All the Olympic lifters on here are fairly far apart with regards to the snatch. So maybe better if we all pick a target for the race, or first to add 10kg/10%?

First to bodyweight
First to 100kg
First to look more awesome than ninearms

Yeah its fine for you skinny emo guys, for me all three of those are the same.
My vote goes for first to add 10kg to there snatch. (that way I am most likely to win again)

I was going to add a picture, but my google image search for skinny snatch probably isn't suitable for work.

bodyweight challenge is only interesting for skinny guys - world strongest man Brian Shaw will not win that race and suddenly snatch 205kg :D

but hey, that 220 oly lifting total race started million years ago is still going isnt it :D

The + 10 % challenge would be like saying who will be the first one to set a new pb.
From 70 to 77 wouldn´t be too far fetched for me but I just never max out on the snatch.
How about 200 lbs? That´s not too close for any of us. Also 100 kg should be about as much as we snatch when we reach 220 as a total, so we would almost have two races for the same thing.

Current PBs:
195 kg SQ, 130 kg Bench, 245 kg DL, 200 kg SQ w/ wraps

Long Term Goals:
@ 75 kg: SQ - 252,5 kg, SQ w/ Wraps - 267,5 kg, DL - 307,5 kg, Total (w/ and w/o Wraps) - 710
@ 82,5 kg: SQ - 275 kg, SQ w/ Wraps - 277,5 kg, Total (w/ and w/o Wraps) - 772,5 kg

I say we just go with standard weightlifting milestones:

1) Bodyweight
2) 100kg
3) 125kg (2 reds and collars)

There are no pounds in weightlifting.

Corrected it for us guys in the triple digits. Anyway I am up for this race :D .

Feels like I am getting back into the snatch groove, doesn't seem too crazy to think about 80kg PB soon..
Has everyone else given up on the dream?

I am just waiting to be strong again and will then nail a new pb of 95 :)

...though would probably need to have access to a good bar to do it...

I've heard there are lots of great bars in Berlin... :)

No but seriously, what's wrong with them? Have you not found a good gym yet?

I´m focussing on my PL world record dream, so I won´t put anything heavy over my head for a long time BUT I just re-started attending OL training and will do technique work as often as possible (and increase the weights over time) without that interfering with my goals.

Maybe a +20 kg PB in a years time when finally maxing out?

If you are interested in "real" powerlifting/weightlifting training every once in a while you could check out bvdg-online.de and bvdk.de to find a close training facility.
