WA Vegan Trail runner

Postby trailrunner » Tue Sep 06, 2011 4:08 pm

Hi Everyone,

20-year veg/vegan who spends way too much time running in the mountains on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Not into the competitive scene too much, but am currently prepping for the 50K Mt. Spokane (WA) trail run in October.

Looking forward to hanging out with all of you and offering my $0.02 on what I've found to work on the nutrition/training side. Just started http://www.vegantrailrunning.com as a site to collect those insights and invite a broader discussion.

Cheers,
TR

Hello & Welcome! :D
It is always nice when another vegan from Cascadia joins. The Olympic Peninsula is one of my favorite regions, do you live up that way or just go there to run? Oh, and your website looks great!

Yay for Port Townsend! :D

Nice co-op and such a pretty lil' town. There is an animal sanctuary up that way whose name eludes me but that I'd love to visit sometime. Really, I am always looking for a way to head back up to the Peninsula & the islands again but sadly only rarely get up there...

Please let me know if you are down here & would like to grab some grub or your beverage of choice! I'm not much of a runner but am always up for a hike - we have lots of great options both in & around the city. If you are able to make it down, our VegFest is coming up soon! Welcome, nice to see another vegan runner from WA here.

Of course my outdoor runs are usually around lakes in the 5K to 10K range, not 50K on mountain trails!
Nice web site.
