Tetley Tea for Soya

How cool is this, really shows how the market for soya milk is growing. Has anyone tried it yet?

Tetley has introduced a revolutionary new product for their lactose intolerant customers and for those that try to avoid dairy products. Tetley’s new Soya blend has been specially designed and developed using teas that deliver a great tasting cuppa when used with Soya milk.

The non-dairy category is a fast growing sector with Soya making up nearly 70% of the market and many large out of home outlets like Starbucks and Costa Coffee are now offering their customers a Soya milk alternative.

Soya milk however has always performed badly in tea and coffee with tails of a horrid aftertaste, floating bits in the tea, and is generally accused of ruining a good cuppa.

I am not sure that I understand... This is a pre-mixed blend of soy(a) and tea in liquid form? Or is it a "special" kind of tea bag that supposedly goes better with soy(a) milk than your average tea? It look likes the second option and if so, then it sounds like marketing hype... Regardless, it is great that they are motivated to target their product at folks who don't use cows milk!

It's just a normal tea bag, but blended so its more suited for soya milk. Probably it is just hype, its not like tetleys is that refined a tea anyway
The fact there is marketing hype, is exciting though cos it means there is a market.

Normal tea bags taste fine with soy... not sure why this would be needed, but a nice move I guess...

I've used several different brands of soya milk with a few different brands of tea and all were absolutely fine. I sneakily used soya milk when making my mum a cuppa (she "hates" soya milk) and she didn't notice! Coffee was a different matter though, the soya milk kept curdling. Now I just wait a few minutes for the black coffee to cool down a bit before adding the milk and voila.

I often give house visitors soy milk in their tea (as it's the only milk in the house) and they've always commented on how "normal" it tastes.

I wonder if soya milk locks up the antioxidants in the same way regular dairy milk does.

Just bought some from Morrisons. I figured it would just be hype but actually it does taste different.
Presumably they have blended it to taste more like cows milk tea tastes.
On first tasting I would say it is a little less bitter than standard tetleys. Might be good way to swap people from cows milk to soya.

Anyone else tasted it and can comment?
