Thanks sonic! 1.45 would have been great but I wasn't quite up to it - times have just been published and I managed 1:48:50 on the day. It's a new PB by 4 minutes, which I'm pretty pleased about, considering. But after the marathon training is out of the way I should definitely be in a good position to improve on this again.

this happens to me too sometimes (at least "used to happen" when i was doing long runs
) although never with nmh
but now that i read this post, i'm sure the king of carrot will chace me up the next hill
