running paceex

Postby mish123 » Sat Aug 20, 2011 2:23 pm

excuse my ignorance - I run mostly for fun
I did my first triathlon 2 years ago with no expectations and came in #9 in my age group.
I have been running. Today's run I ran 19.45k -time: 1.37.50 I felt great afterwords and for the rest of the day. I can't help wondering whats my pace -
An odd question- but was it - when you are not in an event you have nothing to compare it to-

hello!

either use a pace calculator, like this: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/4/4_1/96.shtml

or a gps heart rate monitor :)

good and good = 2, elite runners average about 3min/km or lower for that distance. There are people that average 8min/km or higher at the other end of the spectrum. So what is good ?

good is when you regularly train hard and reach a race pace which is hard to keep. very good is when you spill blood during trainings and races and reach a race pace that almost kills you. excellent is when you die both in trainings and, after resurrecting, in races as well.
