UKs strongest 105 finals - IN!

Postby JP » Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:21 am

EEK!

Qualified as the first reserve when someone from the top 9 from englands finals couldnt do it...

In theory in this comp the top 105kg strongmen from scotland, wales and northern ireland would join the top in england to battle it out.

But in practise because the competition is all way way almost in France (in Kent), very few will make the trip.

I will though! Feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Its very heavy and hard though

Comp details:

Events for UK Finals on Sunday 21 August, Whitstable Rugby Club, Reeves Way, Chestfield, Whitstable, CT5 3QS.

that would be fantastic! Its so far from manchester there wont really be a support crew at all...

also, i dont yet have all the weigh in details, but maybe some kind of VF meetup/meal the saturday evening or afternoon would be a possibility? I dont want to stay at that small town eating crappy foods, so would rather make the trip to london to carb up!

Congrats JP!

Bit of a piss-weak excuse for people to not participate because it's 'all the way down in Kent'. You europeans have no sense of distance :P

Can you just rock up and spectate? I'd like to come and watch!

Well done.

Is it just me being a wimpy runner or are those events fu$xing heavy and difficult?

Awesome! I will cheer you from abroad.
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

...i was really looking forward to a break from all the heavy training to be honest :D

Quite tired from nailing all these high pressure comps, mentally more than physically. Knock wood i am feeling pretty good physically and only have the normal range of wee pains and niggles, nothing major. But mentally i wanted a break...

But that can wait now :D

hey i tried to find out more details, but usually its free to enter or maximum of couple pounds entrance fee. And hell yeah you can just turn up, please do if you can it would be awesome :)

...as long as no one expects me to perform any miracles on the day :D

My target is 10th place - same than englands but with few more tough opponents in. Achievable, realistic, nailable...

Will have some crackpipe talk with Talyn about driving down there, but a London meetup is essential.
Whats you plan with deadlift suit?

Awesome news man, congrats on qualifying.

No way you can defeat a Scotsman sadly, but maybe you can pick off a couple of others :)

Will look at the feasibility of supporting, to be honest I've been pretty poor at attending VF stuff recently though
