Sof and I have justed booked in. On our nice but heavy tandem again. But this year, those who tail gate us on the flat are obliged to pull us the hills.

Thanks, Steve and Sophie,

It will be great to see you again.

This event is in it's third year.

All proceeds for charity, with half of it going to WSPA, Anthony's favourite one.

Would be great if we could get loads more riding. Some of the commercial sportives sell out almost overnight.

For some reason, this event is always slow to mount up in numbers despite it being as good if not better than all the others. I know because I've ridden a lot of sportives and am doing the 195k one this year. It's up to 111 riders so far, we need it to reach 500.

Have a look at the site, that should show how good this year will be

Well that was great fun!

This is the only sportive I've ridden though it's the 3rd year I've done it. Looking round at the start I got the impression that there were not many other riders tackling it on fixed - bit behind the times these sportive riders

I remembered the route being a bit hilly and would have been happy just to finish in 5:30, the cut off for bronze, considering the lack of gears. As it happened I seemed to be going well and really enjoyed myself despite it raining most of the time. Was lucky enough not to join the many puncture victims and was very pleased with my 4:49. I even sampled the organic baby food, don't think baby food came in convenient pouches last time I had it, mashed lentil curry, very nice.

Many thanks to Dave and family, RCC and all for making this a great day out.
