i feel ya. but in the 2 yrs i've been here, it seems that we all go through this at some point. sometimes multiple times. i know i've been sidelined by strained backs as well as my shoulders. so it just goes w/ the territory, and you'll be back in no time.

I didn't go down to the gym on friday because my shoulder was still sore and it seemed like a waste of time, but I have been doing lots of stretching, shoulder dislocations, and sort of following that shoulder rehab program since Thursday using these little dumbbells I think are 2.5 pounds  and a blue rubber tube thing.

Monday 6, 27
Weight - 168lbs (76.2 kg)

Wasn't planning on doing much really, but shoulder was feeling good and somebody was doing weird things to the squat rack so did some light benching

Stretching, shoulder warmup, some face pulls

Bench Press
2xsome@bar
5x10@70lbs

Lat pulldown
15@60 lbs
12@90lbs
6@120lbs

Pull ups - hands a little wider than shoulders
3,2,1

Chin ups - close grip like, hands ~4 inches apart
3,3,2

some pull up negatives

10 minutes intervals on stationary bike
5 minutes sweating and gasping for air

More stretching

I think I'm going to try some light squatting tomorrow and see how that feels, but shoulders are much better, not so tight and mostly not sore.

I haven't been eating well this past week but not much I can do about it just now.

7/1/2001

5 minutes stationary bike
shoulder warm up + some dislocations

Squat
2x10@bar
1x5@95lbs
1x3@135lbs
3X1@155lbs - wouldn't have made second rep on any of them

Press
1x8@bar
1x5@65lbs
2x3@75lbs - failed on 4th both sets
1@75lbs - failed on 2nd

Dumbbell rows
2x10@20lbs
1x5@35lbs
3x5@55lbs

Pulldowns
1x12@80lbs
1x5@120lbs

Chin ups
3x3
1x2
2x1

10 minutes intervals on stationary bike
5 minutes slow pace catching breath

I was planning to do some heavy doubles on squats just to see how it felt on my shoulder, but just couldn't get my head into it. Felt way heavier than it should have and that threw me off.

On press I'm just not strong enough. Most upset about this because I did more reps with 80lbs a couple months ago. Failed right at the top of my head on all sets except the last one where I could only get the bar ~1 inch off my shoulders.

Just generally feeling weak and need to be eating better.

Gym was closed monday, so i did some running instead. Also did some push ups and pull ups.

7/4

~20 minutes running/jogging at a variable pace, not fun.

Push ups
18, 15, 12, 6 - not really happy about this because I was able to do more 4 months ago

Pull ups
5,3,3,2 then some negatives

7/6

5 minutes stationary bike + shoulder warm up and some dislocations

Squat
2x10@bar
1x10@95lbs
1x5@115lbs
3x5@135lbs

Bench
1x10@bar
1x5@75lbs
1x3@95lbs
3x5@115lbs

Deadlift
1x5@135lbs
1x5@205lbs - rechalk before last rep because callus ripped off
1x8@135lbs

Dips
5,3,2,1

I am thinking of changing to a 3x10 type routine next week just to do something different, but I'm not sure yet.

Maybe log your diet here and it'll help you keep on track?

Maybe i will do that. The main problem is an overall laziness when it comes to food. And, now that I can't afford to eat 5 or 6 times a day, skipping a meal has more negativve consequences.

But today, good things happened, new pb for squat :o

Hamstrings and traps were really tight today from wednesdays deadlifting. First time traps were tight like that from deadlift, i guess because its the first time i did that many reps in one session. Once I warmed up today everything felt amazing though, better than squatting has felt in a while.

Squat
2x5@bar
1x5@95lbs
1x3@125lbs
1x3@145lbs - plan was 3x5 at this weight but felt so strong i decided to change the plan to something more fun
1x1@165lbs - belt
1x1@175lbs pb - was fast and not bad at all, think I could maybe do 15-20 more pounds, with a real belt maybe more, so excited about this still. :D

Press
1x8@bar
1x5@60lbs
3x5@70lbs

Cable rows
1x12@60lbs
2x8@80lbs
3x6@120lbs - surprised i made this actually, barely made the first set even

Pulldown
1x12@80lbs
1x6@120lbs

Chin ups
2,2,2,1

Was in a hurry to leave because had some things to do after, so did cable rows instead of dragging out dumbbells and didn't really wait much between sets on rows, pulldowns and chinups

Typing this out was a pain in the ass though. I am on a different computer than normal that only has explorer  and it seems the forum hates this browser as much as i do. Shit keeps jumping around when i type, had to type it up outside and paste it in.

Thanks Rach!

Had a bad workout yesterday. My left shoulder started bothering me again :(

Squat
1x10@bar
1x5@95lbs
1x3@125lbs
1x2@145lbs - stopped because of shoulder pain, I almost tried again, but decided against it

Bench
1x10@bar
1x5@70lbs
1x3@95lbs
1x3@115lbs - shoulder pain

Deadlift - does not bother shoulder at all strangely
1x5@135lbs
1x3@185lbs
1x5@215lbs

Dips - shouldn't have even tried really, but I don't learn easily
5,2 not good

Cable tricep pushdown - Very close grip with a V shaped handle
1x12@50lbs
1x10@75
1x5@?? - this plate isn't marked and they seem to use random intervals
3x8@105

these seem way too easy to be useful at all, but everyone else was doing them, and they didn't bother my shoulder

I'm going to actually follow that shoulder rehab program completely i think, instead of just doing parts of it sometimes. Shoulder was definitely not 100% when I went back to using it as if it was, so this time I will do it right. It isn't as bad as it was before though, so that is good.

on a side note, my calves are so fucking sore right now

Food for today:

smoothie w/berries/soymilk/soy protein
oatmeal/walnut cliff bar
beans and toast /w margarine - fresh made whole wheat bread
block of tofu, pound of broccoli, 1.5 cups brown rice spilt into 2 meals

will have a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of soymilk later before bed.

~2800 calories for the day

Bread machines are amazing things. I don't know why i never got one before, but this one being free makes it even better.

Food for today

oats, dried figs, pumpkin seeds w/ soymilk
grapefruit juice
2 peanut butter sandwiches on whole wheat bread
soymilk
raviolis with tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano and broccoli

Had a couple sports drinks during the day also

Haven't had a ravioli in years and these were 2 for 1 at the store so thought I'd try them. The filling was spinach and tofu with lemon juice and some other things to try to make it like ricotta. Don't know if it really tastes like ricotta, but pretty good for frozen packaged food.

Not sure the calories because i'm not on my computer and that is where all my info is, but doesn't look like enough. Don't feel like eating anything else tonight, but will try to get in some more peanut butter or something. Depends what there is over here.

Didn't go to the gym today because i had some place to go, but will get on that tomorrow after I get home
