Most British people outside London either really dislike the Royal Family or just think they are a bit of a joke. Those that like them tend to really, really like them.

I don't know anybody who likes them, though I did see a few drunks wandering around yesterday with flags draped over their shoulders, and a few houses with bunting in the windows.

What an interesting comment. What is about being in London ( I just watched 28 weeks later, felt like I was there )? Proximity and a fetish for celebrities?

I heard that the UK is about to undergo extreme budget cuts, but that the royal family used some tax payer money for the wedding, which I thought was outrageous. A comedy show we have here mocked this by interviewing actors posing as royal wedding fans confronted by that knowledge via the interviewer and subsequently ignoring those points.

In the U.S. our royalty is the super rich.

There are arguments about austerity measures here that include cutting old off from health care and depriving poor children of aide instead of undoing Bush era tax cuts on the most wealthy people.

Paying for a wedding seems cheaper.

Yes, I didnt watch the wedding, but my mum told me to check out pippa, who does indeed have a lovely bottom. Makes me glad to be moving to London. Not sure if that makes me a Royalist?
