Tories spouting bad science?

I'm putting this up here for two reasons, firstly it's good to get things like this out there. Secondly and related to that, I think it's fair to let anyone who would want to debate it and say the Tories weren't being daft in this, should be able to reply to this in their defence.

I suppose you could say that, although the Tories are probably to the left of the Democrats. US politics just has a different baseline.

It can't really be translated like that.
Policy wise they're generally in favour of minimising the state and privatising what they can. They're in favour generally as well of tax cuts for larger companies. However the situation in the UK is of course, very different to that of the US; for example we have a public health service (for the moment) where as the US currently doesn't have one [although I didn't keep up with US politics, did Obama get the health care insurance bill through?]
