I'm a sports fan, love the olympics, but the whole thing turns me off. Vastly overpriced and overly short sessions.

The olympics is great on the telly with access to every event, but it is mainly made up of pretty poor spectator sports.

I have never been to any major sports event like this though. Thats one reason why i should!

No, you are paying to watch the event. What else are you expecting with your £150 ticket? Good catering?

Maybe if you were more familiar with major sporting events you'd realise what a rip off this one is.

£150 is a bit dramatic loads of tickets for £20 -> http://www.tickets.london2012.com/olyschedule.html

I've looked at the prices for lots of events man. £20 for a seat in the rafters for a couple of hours at the prelims. No sale for me.

I'm just disappointed with the whole thing to be honest.

77kg group B mens, 20 quid - theres one for me :)

some Ennis events go for 20 too

though might nail the 50 quid one for shot put finals which also would have all that other jazz at the same time.

You are unlikely to nail the cheaper tickets to the athletics. The weightlifting I suspect you'll have a few seats to spread out :)

They might have to put the price of a ticket up to cover repairs to this:

And for the official record, the volleyball is sexier than the beach volleyball, unless you are a big fan of sun-cured leather.

If I was going to watch an athletics event, I'd go to one where the athletics were the main attraction, not the Olympics where they are just part of a big political show biz pantomime.

I might be there though.
The company I work for is providing all the shuttle buses between the various venues, accommodation and car parks.
They've already taken applications for 1000 drivers, they'll be asking for mechanics, fuellers and cleaners soon, so I'll be trying to get in as, although they call it "volunteering", they'll be paying significantly more than normal wages.

Saw this on BBC news before, following a family going through the booking process, mother said that it was a once in a life time experience and would replace the big family holiday in 2012. The daughter turned to the mother with a look on her face that was priceless

Does seem very expensive, looked at tickets for final track events and they go upto £725.

I agree the experience of going to the olympics for the first time would be an experience you won't forget.

Think I will settle for watching it on BBC HD.
