well I think if you're just in the moment and got even just a little bit of competitiveness in ya im sure you can do it. even if you currently cant you got 10 months. either way if you stay healthy and fit its almost a sure shot. good luck and cant wait to hear when you get it!

I found sub 16 way harder than sub 35. I went sub 33 before I went sub 16.
Good luck though!

My goals:
1. Stay injury free and try and get reasonably fit.
2. Do some races.
3. Sub 17 by september would be nice. Then next year try and move on again.

Yes, it should be, but I seem to be racing so many 5K's that I'm so much better on them than on the Swedish mile. Thanks for the support, and good luck to you too!

I'm aiming to do a 5k in 27 minutes in July
To do 10 mile race in 1:30 in October
And to do a half marathon sub 2hrs at the end of this year.

I would also like to start enjoying speed work! Some psychological training for me this year...

I have booked onto a mountain navigation course that includes a 10K run. Therefore, I need to pull my finger the fuck out and get to that stage, or I will look stupid and hold the group up.

I also want to go down a clothes size and get to the stage where running is always fun and not a chore.

With this in mind, I now get up earlier, walk to the train station with The Fella and run back home up the hill. I've also started running on the spot. The next stage is fell running.

Basically, in a nutshell, I want to be a competent fell runner by the end of the year.

Ive started fell running, (I havent been in the mountains for the last couple of weeks but I have been doing my 4 mile up the hill and through the woods run reguarly).

Basically, I want to be able to run to Carnedd Llewelyn and back (25km with 1,831m of ascent) realistically this is a longer term goal than I can achieve this year. I have managed to do return runs to Foel Fras so from there a lot of the ascent is done, but its still a hell of a way further on to Carnedd Llewelyn and back again...

50' or even better a few seconds less :P on a 10km run
1h50' on the half-marathon (I'm at 1h54' for now)

Getting used to the idea of MAYBE running a 30km race next year. That is, if my joints agree :?

Also, I need to do much more core training. I really dislike it but I have to :|

Eh, an update is needed. I did two 10k and they felt awful. I hate the distance and how fast those races are. Also, those were two races I already did in 2010 with perfect weather conditions (15-20°C, cloudy), and this year on both days it was sunny with temps about 10°C higher than last year... I can't stand this heat on the road.

So, I decided I'd drop the 10k goal and start training for the 30k in September.
Then I got a cold after running a 10 mile race under the rain last month, and have only recently started breathing normally.
I went out for 16k yesterday and it felt great. I'm planning to add a km every week if I can.

my goal is to do a marathon before I'm 40
which I figure I would have to run 3-4 days a week constantly - this is the questionable part due to limited personal time -
regardless I have a year to accomplish this
